Responsibilities:

·         Building robust, extensible and extremely efficient C# .Net powered Internet applications for a wide range of CTV properties

·         Building and extending database elements (MS SQL 2000 and 2005)

·         Maintaining and replacing legacy ASP code (VBScript)

·         Maintaining and extending custom C# applications

·         Helping develop, update and maintain scripts that manage and process XML feed data

·         Developing tools that integrate seamlessly and efficiently with existing HTML documents, .Net controls, and AJAX and Flash applicants

Qualifications:

 

  • Three years production experience in C# .NET and MS SQL;
  • Extensive experience developing user-friendly, forms-based web applications;
  • Experience processing input XML feeds and producing valid XHTML and XML output an asset
  • Experience with Test Driven Development and/or unit testing an asset
  • Production experience in other platforms and other web server languages such as PHP / MySQL an asset;
  • An understanding of web application scaling  / caching strategies
  • A working knowledge of JavaScript;
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server and IIS;
  • Experience with web services

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Digital Media Group Design Team, the Sr. Web Designer will be primarily responsible for the design and build of digital projects for properties within the DMG portfolio including broadcast and radio.  Executing design and site builds to the highest creative, technical and usability standards, the ideal candidate will be a guru of front end coding and will eat, drink and dream XHTML, CSS, Flash and all the things that turn static design documents into modern, dynamic and engaging interactive experiences.

  • Visually interpret web site design and layout, including illustrations/graphics concepts, in a creative, contemporary style and fully integrated manner
  • Translate concepts effectively against objectives and execute page builds on schedule
  • Use XHTML and CSS coding to modern W3C Web Standards
  • Work collaboratively with the sales, production, design and development teams in a team-based and fast paced environment
  • Contribute to the overall creative development of digital properties
  • Bring fresh ideas to brainstorms for both internal and external clients
  • Keep current with changing specs and technologies within the Web and content portals/social networks in particular.

·         Build Flash animations from initial concept designs

·         Continuously reformulate approach to site design and production

Qualifications:

  • 3+ yrs of Information Design and/or web specific graphic design experience
  • 3+ yrs professional HTML development, including Advanced XHTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. in professional environment
  • 2+ yrs of experience working in and around ASP, JSP, or other backend scripting languages.
  • Significant preference given to those with strong Flash and Action Script skills.
  • Designer must be able to show design portfolio and code samples that demonstrate the above skills
  • Must be able to work in high profile, high-energy environment and adapt quickly to fast-changing situations.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in a non-hierarchical environment preferred.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required to meet project deadlines.

·         Working in a networked environment, basic audio mixing and colour adjustment

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Minimum 3 years experience in non-linear and advanced television production techniques is required

·         A post-secondary education with emphasis on technical and production standards is preferred, as well as a high degree of creativity and organizational skills. 

·         Strong storytelling skills

·         Ability to effectively use Marquee and Adobe products

·         The ability to work independently in a fast paced environment under strict deadlines
