Position: | Photo-Journalist (Full Time) | ||

Salary: | C.E.P. Local 816M, Group VIII Commensurate with qualifications and experience | ||
Hours of Work: | 40 hours per week. Varying shifts, including evenings and weekends. Overtime as required. | ||
Responsibilities: | ·Operate an ENG Camera including lighting and sound equipment for news and sports ·Edit video and sound material on deadline for broadcast ·Shooting and editing promotion and production elements ·On-location interviews ·Shooting “live” segments ·Proficient in operating microwave transmission equipment and associated truck ·Accountable for checking equipment before taking into field ·Responsible for safe operation of all equipment, and for formally reporting any malfunctions of equipment immediately ·Weekend and evening assignments ·Other duties as assigned | ||
Qualifications: | · A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast or related program · Minimum 2 years ENG photography and editing experience in a newsroom setting · Strong news judgement with demonstrated video journalism skills · Experience using a Sony Betacam SX an asset · Demonstrated non-linear editing skills; experience on Leitch systems an asset · Experience at “live” on-location shooting · Strong editorial judgment with a proven ability to use sound and pictures to help tell the story · Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work unsupervised and make quick decisions · Demonstrated ability to work with in a deadline-driven, team environment · Must possess a valid Class 5 or equivalent driver’s licence | ||
