Position: Producer/Director – News
Location: CTV Winnipeg
Salary: CEP 816, Group XIV

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime and evening and weekend shifts as required.
Responsibilities: Direct on-air presentation of live productions, including newscasts, news updates, local programs, special events and live remotes. Provide leadership to the crew and production staff. Direct and instruct on-air, technical and operational personnel in daily live production. Coordinate all studio events, including staffing, lighting, cameras and feed & play. Attend daily news meetings and provide technical advice as it relates to editorial decisions. Work with news producers regarding all aspects of news production to maintain proper standards and effective communication . Contribute to production of graphics and visual elements ·Develop and implement new formats and visual presentation as required · Participate in quality control and Broadcast Report follow-up. Co-ordination of various newsroom support systems . Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Experience directing multi-camera live television production · Graduate of post secondary Broadcast diploma or degree program or related experience · Proven ability to direct in a fast paced environment · Proven ability to make fast, competent decisions under pressure ·Proven team leader with effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to motivate a team ·Ability to innovate and suggest new ideas · Thorough knowledge of production and technical requirements for live broadcasts
