Hours of Work: | 40 hours per week. Overtime as required. | ||
Responsibilities: | To play a leadership role in the delivery of a 1 hour Noon Show consisting of 2 guest segments, news, weather and sports. The producer is also responsible for creating a compelling and exciting newscast filled with local news and sports for News at 6. · Oversee noon and 6pm newscast · Put together daily rundowns & ingestion sheet · Work with host to book guests by phoning and booking times – coordinate line-up with Anchor and News Director · Generate story ideas, write leads, scripts and provide necessary pictures, graphics and video needed for the segments · Conduct weekly 0n-line pole · Oversee edit suite, prioritize who goes first and amount of time needed · Make timely control room decisions about content and quick adjustments · Other duties as assigned | ||
Qualifications: | · Successful graduate of an accredited Broadcast program · High level of creativity and intuitive feel for content that connects with viewers · Self motivated, able to delegate duties and work in a team environment · Excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills · Demonstrated ability to adhere to tight deadlines is critical · Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and productively in a changing environment requiring immediate decision making · Strong writing and creative story telling abilities are a must · Knowledge of television production procedures, terminology and equipment capabilities | ||
