MANAGER, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS & MEDIA RELATIONS
$102,081 to $127,602 per annum

Working with an energetic, talented, and committed team in the Government Relations & Strategic Communications Division, you will manage GO Transit’s public image, and the strategic dissemination of information through issues management, corporate communications, media relations, and corporate branding. In this role, you will be responsible for managing GO Transit’s overall media and public relations issues; strategic delivery of external and internal communications that accurately reflect GO Transit’s services and objectives; strategic delivery of print, online, media, and multimedia information and material to target markets and audiences; and ensuring GO Transit’s public image, branding, and visual identity continually reinforces a strong public and community relations profile.
· Media relations, issues management, business communications, and planning, corporate branding, journalism, and new social media applications
· Meeting deadlines when managing simultaneous projects that require the assimilation of diverse or complex information for communication to stakeholder audiences of varied knowledge and understanding.
· Internal and external corporate communications that includes media, public relations, and the principles, practices, and use of multimedia such as audio / visual, print, and web.
· Designing, writing, editing, and producing creative material for print, online, and desktop publications.
· Excellent interpersonal communications (verbal and written) with stakeholders including news media, MTO, Minister’s office, and other government agencies.
· Planning and delivering multimedia programs and campaigns under tight deadlines.
· Taking a leadership role to successfully coach and mentor.
· The application of organizational and analytical skills
Fluency in French that meets Ontario Public Service (OPS) standards would be considered an asset. Must successfully complete environmental, safety, supervisory, and any other training required by corporate policy.
