Weather Announcer (part-time)

Posting Date: September 23, 2009 Closing Date: September 30, 2009 Position: Weather Announcer (part-time) Reference Number: Location: Windsor, ON Salary: CEP 87-M Wage Group 6 Commensurate with qualifications and experience Hours of Work: Days, Evenings, & Weekends. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities: Assist in preparing weather forecast. Research and schedule potential live remote locations at suitable community and entertainment events. Present forecast on-air. Conduct live on-air interviews. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: · On-air television experience in a live setting; preferably weather announcing experience. · Interest and experience in covering entertainment stories and community events. · Graduate from a recognized college or university broadcast program or equivalent in experience. · Understanding of meteorology and an ability to explain complex weather information to viewers. Demonstrated ability to organize material, meet deadlines, and work accurately. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Valid G class Driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
