Position: Reporter / Editor / Producer (Online) Part-time Weekend

Salary: ONG Local 30205 ($26.0857 - $39.0035 per hour) Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Hours of Work: 20 hours per week. Overtime as required. Weekends including some Friday work, and may involve evening shifts.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be an experienced and web-savvy journalist with a passion for breaking news and presenting stories across multiple platforms. The individual will help build ottawa.ctv.ca into the Nation’s Capital Online News Leader . As part of the CTV Ottawa News team, responsible for the preparation, repurposing, and reporting of news content primarily for ottawa.ctv.ca · Origination of story ideas, research, writing, and interviews for online news Ensure the accuracy and consistency of news content on the CTV Ottawa website Determine priority of weekend online news content · Participate in News editorial meetings · Potential for reporting on air · Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: University degree or diploma in journalism or in a related field preferred · Minimum 1 year experience as an online, print or television reporter · Experience in a New Media / Online newsroom is preferred · Strong writing and copy editing skills · Ability to make independent copy editing decisions · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well individually and/or in a team · Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain creativity in a high-pressure, deadline oriented environment · Familiarity with on-line publishing tools is an asset · Familiarity with CP style guide is an asset · Previous hosting / anchoring experience is an asset · French language skills are an asset Application Details: Interested candidates are encouraged to forward a resume and an example of their online news stories in confidence to:
