CTV - Audio Operator (Toronto)

Salary: Operations Group 5 - $763.22 to $1,278.62 per week (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:
· The use of Apple O/S, Windows NT & Windows computer platforms. Data and system administration, including archival procedures, user management and troubleshooting.
· Multi-track editing and mixing, including sound design, with an emphasis on Voice Recording using ProTools 7.x.
· Audio media exchange with Avid Media Composer systems via “file-level”, AAF and OMF transfers.
· Familiarity with Audio-Over-IP technologies and applications (e.g. Source Connect) for remote recordings into ProTools.
· Use and applications of telephone hybrids (POTS and ISDN) to facilitate remote recordings and communications.
· Re-striping of picture masters onto a variety of broadcast format VTRs.
· Work with clients to provide them with a high quality of service and excellent finished product.

Qualifications:
· College diploma or university degree with emphasis on technical and production standards is preferred or equivalent related job experience acquired through 3-5 years of experience.
· Minimum 2 year experience in recording Voice-over and Narration voices, in addition to mixing short-form (on-air promotions) productions.
· Knowledge of current surround sound broadcast formats as they relate to HDTV.
· Good time management skills are required. .
· Self-motivated individual who possesses the ability to work without supervision.
· The ability to troubleshoot software and hardware malfunctions.
· The ability to communicate ideas and vital project related information to others.
· The candidate must be able to work in a deadline driven environment and effectively handle high pressure situations.
