Position: Field Producer

Location: CTV – Ottawa News Bureau
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:
· Work with editorial staff to manage CTV news activities
· Develop and maintain a network of contacts
· Generate story ideas with a political emphasis
· Write and edit scripts
· Oversee shooting and editing of news material
· Field Produce items, remote segments or events
· Plan coverage of special events
· Other duties as required

Qualifications:
· Journalism degree or equivalent
· Excellent knowledge of television production techniques
· Extensive knowledge of Canadian politics
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines
· Excellent communications and writing skills
· Ability to travel on short notice
· Bilingual (French), other languages an asset
· Strong leadership skills
