CTV - DNS Manager (Toronto)

Position: DNS Manager

Location: CTV – Agincourt
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:

Primary DNS contact in the CTV National Newsroom.
Attend assignment and lineup meetings.
Provide a written summary of stories and events of interest to the DNS members.
Inform Agincourt News Assignment desk of important stories from local stations
Present specific DNS requests to the Agincourt News assignment desk.
Provide a written summary of daily News material and update information as required.
Organize and facilitate the efficient collection and distribution of all news packages and raw material including live events.
Other duties as required

Qualifications:

Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and prioritize
A minimum of 5 years experience in television News production
Highly organized, ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects
Interest in daily news and current affairs
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt quickly to special projects in a breaking news environment
In-depth knowledge of domestic and international news and current affairs
Knowledge of technical systems and processes – especially digital equipment and applications
Excellent communications skills - oral and written
Ability to work in a team, motivate staff and personally set the highest professional journalism standards.
