Position: Overnight Assignment Editor - Freelance

Location: Toronto – Agincourt
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work: Weekend overnights

Responsibilities:
· Monitoring wire and feed services for developing stories
· Assigning reporters and resources for breaking news
· Updating newscasts
· Alerting producers to breaking news
· Booking reporters and facilities for live hits
· Coordinating coverage with all news platforms
· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
· Excellent communication skills both written and oral
· Strong computer skills
· Extensive knowledge of national and international news
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and prioritize
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Journalism Degree or diploma
· Proficiency in INEWS
