Position: Senior Publicist, Arts & Entertainment Specialties, 6 month contract

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:
· Reporting to the Manager, Arts & Entertainment, the Senior Publicist develops strategic and proactive communication plans to ensure clear, consistent, and appropriate messaging for etalk, Bravo!, FashionTelevision, Star!, SexTV, and additional CTV programming.
· Plan and execute publicity for Arts and Entertainment’s top programming priorities
· Develop key messages, core concepts, and corporate positioning for channels, programming, on-air talent, marketing initiatives and partnerships
· Build and maintain relationships with print, radio and online media, and photographers through regular contact and pitches
· Write and distribute publicity materials including, press releases, biographies, programming highlights, etc.
· Respond to media and internal parties’ requests for publicity material
· Plan and execute media interviews with talent, reporters, executives and others where appropriate
· Plan and execute press conferences, photo shoots, red carpet events and press junkets as required
· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
· Completion of a public relations degree or equivalent with a minimum of five years experience in the communications/media/entertainment industry
· Demonstrated knowledge and enthusiasm for the arts, the entertainment industry, pop culture, Canada’s television production community, and the Canadian star system
· Experience with A-list talent management and television production
· Ambitious, enthusiastic, and hard-working
· Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
· Evidence of good working relationships with the press, including North American blogging and online media
· Exceptional writing skills are essential
· Must be detail-oriented, resourceful, organized and creative with superior research skills
· Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills
· Must be a dynamic self-starter and team player
