Qualifications:

· Excellent knowledge of domestic and international news and current affairs

· Experience in broadcast writing

· Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines of several simultaneous duties, while maintaining focus and composure

· Proven ability to marry picture and sound

· Excellent communication skills – both oral and written

· Ability to work in a team, and be self motivated

· Good computer skills

· Broadcast or Journalism degree

· French or other language skills an asset

· Newsroom line-up skills an asset

· Proficiency in INEWS is an asset

  • Responsible for the day to day management the CTV British Columbia Engineering, Building Maintenance and Transmitter Departments, including project planning, trouble shooting, maintenance and repair of all CTV British Columbia facilities and field operations.
  • Position reports to Vice President and General Manager, CTV British Columbia and will liaise with CTV Engineering and Operations head office.
  • Responsible for performance management of all Engineering staff
  • Responsible for: budgeting, tracking expenditures, training, equipping, guiding, deploying and evaluating the Engineering and Technical Support staff
  • Development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines to enhance equipment reliability, performance and longevity
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers and their manufacturers to provide best value and performance of supplied products
  • Assist with the co-ordination, planning and purchasing of CTV British Columbia’s capital requirements

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education, specializing in Electrical Engineering or Broadcast Technology
  • At least 10 years of applied experience in the Broadcasting Industry: fibre, satellite distribution, maintenance of broadcast technical equipment, transmitters, and new digital broadcast technology.
  • Must have project management skills, supervisory experience and strong communication skills.
  • Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple assignments
  • Must have an overall understanding of the live program production process and a strong sense of urgency in solving technical requests to meet broadcast requirements

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of NTSC in Analog and digital signals

· Knowledge of technical specifications, waveform and vector scopes

· MUST be able to foresee potential problems, work under pressure and have demonstrated the ability to react quickly and productively in a changing environment requiring immediate decision-making.
