Responsibilities:

Performing all studio operations functions within CP24 including:

Qualifications:

·         Minimum 3-5 years previous experience and proven track record in a live studio-control room position; TD or Audio experience necessary and directing experience would be an asset

·         A broad general knowledge of television technical theory particularly in the digital world

·         Previous experience with deko

·         Demonstrate good leadership qualities and have the ability to act in a supervisory/crew leader capacity when required

·         Demonstrated ability to succeed in a crew environment

·         Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well under pressure

·         Post-secondary education in broadcasting will be a definite asset

Promotions:

·          Assist the Promotions Director with promotional concepts, designs, implementation and follow-up and assist in Marketing plans for  The Drive.

·          Research and develop station and sales promotional projects as assigned.

·          Participate in promotions, marketing, announcer, and/or sales meetings as required.

·          Assist in the maintenance of  Promotion Department materials including scheduling, filing and maintaining of  all promotional material for the Drive

·          Help coordinate the recording of production materials for promotional purposes and coordinate the writing of promotional liners and other Promotions Department Administrative duties for the Drive.

·          Help plan, organize and promote on-location appearances, volunteer M.C. activities, and other station events and make promotional appearances, and carry out other special duties as assigned for the Drive.

·          Voice track a regular on-air shift  and/or fill in other on air shifts when necessary and be available as vocal talent for Production.

·          Enter contest, concert, community events, and other information into the back-ends of the station website(s), and keep same up-to-date.

Copy:

·          Work in conjunction with the sales staff, production and promotions department to create the best possible on air image for our clients and stations. Work toward external client success by using the CHUM CLIENT SOLUTIONS model. A business must have a “core message” that should be explored creatively and produced succinctly to create successful on air campaigns. Ensure that all paid advertising and promotional material.

Qualifications:

·          Minimum 2-3yrs Radio Copy Writer experience or in a similar role.

·          2 year College Diploma in Advertising, Marketing or Radio.

·          Team player

·          Attention to detail  & accuracy a must

·          Able to work independently and with minimal supervision

·          Works well under pressure & must be extremely organized

·          Strong multi-tasking & time management skills

·          Experience in radio promotions an asset

·          Experience in radio copy-writing an asset

Hours of Work:

Shift work – Primarily evenings and weekends.
Average 24 hours per week, with potential for additional hours as required for backfill purposes.

Responsibilities:

·          Record, ingest and playback from various sources with VTR and non-linear equipment

·          Prepare commercials, promos and programs for internal and external use

·          Record, playback and monitor quality of studio, satellite and fiber feeds

·          Operate Leitch news server system and associated programs

·          Library duties, shipping, receiving, labeling

·          Check and verify on-air content from Medialogger system

·          Become proficient in new programs and systems as they become available

·          Must be available to work all shifts

·          Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

·          Minimum of one year’s experience in television broadcasting, with direct VTR and video server system experience

·          Technical diploma or post-secondary broadcast certificate an asset

·Operate an ENG Camera including lighting and sound equipment for news and sports

·Edit video and sound material on deadline for broadcast

·Shooting and editing promotion and production elements

·On-location interviews 

·Shooting “live” segments

·Proficient in operating microwave transmission equipment and associated truck

·Accountable for checking equipment before taking into field

·Responsible for safe operation of all equipment, and for formally reporting any malfunctions of equipment immediately

·Weekend and evening assignments

Qualifications:

·         A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast or related program

·         Minimum 2 years ENG photography and editing experience in a newsroom setting

·         Strong news judgement with demonstrated video journalism skills

·         Experience using a Sony Betacam SX an asset

·         Demonstrated non-linear editing skills; experience on Leitch systems an asset

·         Experience at “live” on-location shooting

·         Strong editorial judgment with a proven ability to use sound and pictures to help tell the story

·         Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work unsupervised and make quick decisions

·         Demonstrated ability to work with in a deadline-driven, team environment
