Position: Community Relations Coordinator (CEP Local 87-M)

Salary: CEP 87-M Wage Group 7 Min. $19.53 to Max. $28.81 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities: Develop and nurture effective working relationships with local non-profit organizations, community leaders and media representatives. Write interesting and effective news releases. Respond to requests for information from other media outlets and the general public, or designate another spokesperson or information source. Negotiate, monitor and assess community relations, public relations and sponsorship initiatives. Manage station special events such as open houses, client receptions, clinics, training seminars, etc. Coordinate public appearances for station personalities and management. Coordinate purchasing and distribution of station marketing merchandise. Other duties as required.
Qualifications: Post-secondary education in broadcasting, public relations or equivalent experience. Ability to build effective networks of contacts within the community. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Candidate must be detail oriented with advanced level computer knowledge. Candidate must have strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must be highly motivated and capable of working independently to meet objectives and deadlines. Valid G Class driver’s license and a clean driving record.
