Position: News Reporter / Weekend Producer
Location: CTV Winnipeg Salary: C.E.P. Local 816M, Group 15

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Varying shifts, including evenings and weekends. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities:
General assignment reporting · Generating original story ideas for on-air and online presentation ·Interviewing story subjects ·Solid script writing and voicing ·Live reporting ·Producing weekend newscasts · Assigning weekend reporters and cameras · Writing news scripts, intros and show elements for weekend newscasts · Vetting reporter and web scripts · Acting as back-up producer for other newscasts as required · Regular weekend and evening assignments ·Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast program · Minimum of 3 years experience working in a television news room Previous experience news reporting · Previous producing experience preferred Proven editorial judgement and journalism skills with the ability to maintain high journalistic standards · Solid knowledge of broadcast law · Strong organizational skills · Ability to lead a team and motivate staff · Ability to make quick decisions and thrive in a deadline driven team environment · In depth knowledge of news and current affairs · Excellent communication skills · Knowledge of iNews, DNS, Gateway, internet and Microsoft Office an asset Must possess a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license
